CORONATION PARK COMMITTEE
The purpose of our project is to provide improvements to Coronation Park to make it one of the "must see" areas in our City. Our objectives are to secure public, business, service group and government funding to provide a park that will be used for a variety of activities and relaxation, by the young and the elderly, the able-bodied and the disabled throughout the entire year. Our downtown park is centrally located but has not been fully utilized for many years. The high school and the aquatic centre daycare children mostly use the soccer field (soccer and rugby) and other equipment. Some families use is on the weekends and in the evenings. With our new playground equipment, we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of users. We have potential for tremendous growth in our very large space.
Our first Project !!!
In 2006, the first phase of Coronation Park Development was completed. The new playground has a rubberized surface, easy walking access and a high standard of safety. It is planned to have this area wheelchair accessible. Prior to doing this, essential ground work must be completed.
Our Goals for the Park
Our vision is to have large number of families and children, competitive athletes, and people of all ages visit the Park on a daily basis and enjoy the many views and facilities. We believe such a park will encourage our young children and our youth to become more active early and remain active as adults.
We Need Your Help!
All of this cannot be done without financial support. Through generous contributions we have made an impressive start to this development. However, we will continue to require financial support and look forward to new benefactors. If you are interested in supporting this worthwhile project, please contact us.
Planned Improvements
The End Result At the end of the day, the entire park will be transformed into an area that citizens of all ages and interests will be proud to visit. Whether it is to play soccer, tennis, basketball, baseball, softball or rugby, to enjoy a stroll through the miles of paved trails, read a book or enjoy a family picnic, the park will contain something for everyone.

Future Developments
Funding may further affect the priority and time line of some of the components of Coronation Park.
